Stockholm to Hamburg or Berlin is not one single train product. It is mainly a choice between two overnight operators, both compatible with Interrail when you reserve.
SJ EuroNight EN 345 runs Stockholm-Malmö-Hamburg-Berlin until August 31, 2026. From September 1, 2026, RDC says it will continue the EuroNight route commercially as RDC EuroNight 344/345.
Snälltåget publishes a 2026 Stockholm-Malmö-Copenhagen-Hamburg-Berlin timetable. It is seasonal, does not run every day, and the operator says times are preliminary and may change.
The best train is usually the one with an available reservation on your date. If both are available, compare departure time, arrival time, and accommodation type.

Snälltåget is the calendar-sensitive option. The official booking calendar should be the final source, but these published windows are useful for deciding whether the route is even plausible for your trip.
Both operators can work with Interrail, but the reservation is the part that makes the plan real. Search the operator first, then build the rest of the trip around the confirmed train.
Choose your date first. These trains do not have identical operating calendars.
Check the operator timetable before activating a travel day. Track work can change times.
Add Interrail/Eurail during booking and buy the mandatory reservation.
Book a berth or sleeper early in summer, because this route can sell out before ordinary seats.
For Snälltåget, Interrail and Eurail are valid but the operator says you must book and pay for a reservation. Interrail also lists reservations as mandatory for Stockholm-Berlin services in Sweden.
Add Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin, and optional stopovers, then compare where the EuroNight or Snälltåget reservation fits your dates.
Short answers for the route questions travelers usually need before choosing a train.
The two main direct overnight options are EuroNight and Snälltåget. EuroNight runs Stockholm-Malmö-Hamburg-Berlin. Snälltåget runs Stockholm-Malmö-Copenhagen-Hamburg-Berlin on selected 2026 dates.

SJ's EuroNight service to Germany ends after August 31, 2026. RDC says it will continue the Berlin-Hamburg-Stockholm EuroNight commercially from September 1, 2026.
Snälltåget currently shows the earlier Hamburg arrival at 05:06, while the supplied EuroNight timetable reaches Hamburg at 05:53. Choose by date, reservation availability, and the accommodation you want.
Use them as planning reference only. Night-train timetables and departure dates can change because of seasonal calendars, operator changes, and track maintenance.
